Once you have your investment firm set up in Shoobx, you can add new users to participate in your firm and can customize their permission levels.
To Add A New User
Log into Shoobx and click on the "Start New Workflow" button in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Here, you'll want to identify the "Add Firm Member" button (underneath the "Firm Management" heading). Select this process.
The next screen will ask you to input the legal name of your firm member and their email. You'll also be asked to provide the date they started working for your investment firm.
Finally, you have the opportunity to decide whether you'd like to send your new firm member an invitation to join Shoobx immediately so that they can begin their account activation process. Please note that, if you do choose to invite a user immediately, you'll want to go ahead and grant them access to information and actions (described below) right after you run this workflow - otherwise, they will log in and see nothing in their Shoobx account!
Granting Access And Setting Permissions
Congrats - you've probably added someone new to your team and are looking to give them a bit of access to information or permit them to take actions on behalf of your investment firm! To do so, you'll want to click on the "User Directory" from your dashboard (make sure that you are in the firm dashboard and not a portfolio company dashboard). For example, you'll want to see your firm name listed in the toolbar, as demo'ed below:
Once you're in the user directory, you'll be able to see the new users that you have added (along with any existing users at your firm). Clicking on the hamburger drop-down icon next to the user whose permissions you'd like to edit will allow you to do just that.
If you select the "Access" button, as demo'ed above, you'll be able to edit George Costanza's permissions and access for your firm, in this case, Raviga Capital.
This is not the same as granting George access to a certain portfolio company's information. For instance, let's say Pied Piper's CEO Richard Hendricks shared information with Raviga Capital, their investor. If George should only have access to the details in Pied Piper and NOT the Raviga Capital information, you can customize this by adding George (as explained above) and then customizing his permissions in Pied Piper. To grant George access to Pied Piper's information specifically, click into the "Pied Piper" lens in Shoobx (seen below).
Select the "Team Management" button beneath the "My Firms" module. This will bring you to a new screen that will allow you to select the "Add Team Member" button.
You'll be able to add an existing user, George Costanza, to Pied Piper by following the simple step after clicking "Add Team Member." Once you do so, you'll see George listed on this page and can use the hamburger icon to edit his role and permissions within Pied Piper.
