The left side bar in Shoobx can be very helpful as you're going through a workflow. The more complicated the workflow, the more useful the left side bar will be. Below, we dig into the details of how to best take advantage of the left side bar.
Picture below: example of a left side bar with the document list (above) and master terms list (below).
There are four possible types of information that might appear in the side bar of a workflow. Please note, however, that you'll see different sections appear in different workflows, and you'll never see all four categories appear in the same workflow.
- 1) Workflow information - useful information to provide context about the workflow
- 2) Documents - the documents generated in this workflow
- 3) Users - a list of users involved in the workflow
- 4) Actions - available actions to make updating certain key terms accessible throughout the workflow without having to go back through the wizard
Workflow information
Useful information to provide context about the workflow.
Document List
The document list contains the documents generated in this workflow. To read any of these documents, you can click the small "download" icon next to the documents. To edit a document, you should not attempt to edit the download, but instead click the small "edit" icon. This will allow you to edit the document without clicking "Back" in the workflow. It is essentially an edit shortcut and is only found in more complicated workflows where going back is really a hassle.
Users Information
This will list the users involved in the workflow.
Actions List
The Actions list appears below the document list. It allows you to update terms that appear in multiple documents. For example, in a financing workflow, you might be able to update the names of your investors and how much they're investing. Having one universal place to edit this prevents you from having to edit all the documents that mention these terms, and it also prevents you from having to go back in the workflow.
