This article explains how to use the Investment Portfolio in Shoobx.
What is the Investment Portfolio?
The Investment Portfolio in Shoobx is an interactive tool that summarizes all of your investments in Shoobx companies—and even lets you visualize your exit scenarios.
To view your Investment Portfolio, log into Shoobx, and select "My Portfolio" at the top of the Welcome screen. You can also view your Portfolio from your Dashboard page, by utilizing the dropdown menu on upper right corner that has your initials or picture.
For all of the companies on Shoobx that you have invested in, the Investment Portfolio screen lists the total amount you have invested, shows that break down by company with a pie chart, and lets you see your potential return in the My Exit Scenarios area.
If you have invested through more than one investment vehicle (for example, you made some investments as an individual and some through a fund you manage), you may filter the investments shown via a dropdown menu at the top of the screen.
Each investment is listed individually with the following information:
- Name of Company (this link will bring you to that company's dashboard)
- Employee count
- Investor and investment amount
- Ownership (the date and type of investment)
- Current Valuation
- Price Per Share (which is based on the original issue price)
- Estimated value of the company (based on current price per share)
- Estimated value of investment (based on current Fair Market Value per share) and return ratio
- Exit Scenarios A and B, which you can edit to reflect likely outcomes
My Exit Scenarios
The exit scenarios allow you to set expectations of a company's likely exit. The bar charts show the value of your investments based on the companies current valuation and price per share and two customizable scenarios base on your estimates. The investment amount is included for easy comparison. Shoobx will calculate your estimated return and return ratio for each scenario.
Exit Scenarios A and B can be changed by clicking on the edit icon next to the Company Exit Amount. A new window will open and allow you to enter a predicted Exit Amount, Exit Date, and other relevant information. If no estimate is entered, the current valuation will be used to calculate your investment return.
