This article shows how I-9 approvers work in the platform and how to add one or more of these to your company. The second part of this article goes over how it works if you choose to have multiple I-9 approvers.
You can only access the screens mentioned in this article if you have Full HR Admin Access.
I-9 approvers will be asked to fill out the company portion of I-9s after the employee has filled their part out.
How to View or Set I-9 Approvers
First, access the Administration settings by clicking on the gear icon on the left-hand side of your company workspace. Next, click on "Employment Workflows".
Choose the "Form I-9" from the panel on the left of the screen.
Fill in the 'Workflow Approvers' box with everyone in your company that you would like to fill out the company portion of I-9s (after the employee has filled out their part). You might choose to list just one person or multiple people here.
Multiple I-9 Approvers
When an employee has completed an I-9, everyone at your company listed on the Workflow Approvers list will receive a notification in their account.
From the My Workflows view, the notification will say Preview Employee Form I-9.
If you click the blue "status" button next to this notification, it will let you know which other workflow approvers can take the same action.
If you click into the workflow, you'll see a large warning that says, "This section can be completed by multiple users." If you click the "Claim Workflow" button, only you will be able to do work in the workflow.
If you don't click the "Claim Workflow" button, then your colleagues can come in at any time and click this button and take the workflow themselves.
